Use Somebody

Everyday that goes by is a life lesson. I learn, I grow, I get a little softer and sensitive in some areas, while others I become hard and insensitive. It seems as though my entire life has been full of lessons instead of a great adventure like most people claim.

Hi, I just found your blog. Through a blogger group I think. I thought I would help you a little. Have you heard of RSS or syndication? If you have an RSS button on your blog, readers will be notified when your blog updates, when you post new posts. They will be notified in their reader such as a "Google Reader." So my suggestion to you is if you want new readers, more readers, get an RSS logo put on your blog. They free through Blogger, as a matter of fact.

You know how to get to "customization," correct? Like before you are going to post? Well sign in your google account, go to this blog. Sign into this blog. Choose customization. Instead of choosing to post, I believe you choose "layout." Whatever you need to get to a layout of your blog. In the sidebar section of your blog layout you will see "add a gadget." I believe you check on that. Do whateever you have to do to make the list of Blogger gadgets appear. Then find the one that has to do with RSS feed. It's also called RSS subscription. Follow the directions to install it onto your blog. Don't forget to save. Then click on view blog.

The next time someone visits your blog and clicks on the RSS syndication logo, they will from that time on be notified when you update, through their blog Reader (such as Google Reader). You will get much more readers this way! Trust me. This service is free to them, and free for you to run also. So it's a win-win. I suggest you get it.

There is another way for visitors and readers to subscribe to your blog. I won't go into the whole thing, but it is called subscribing by email. There should also be a widget (logo) that Blogger puts out if you want to do this in your blog (put this widget in so that visitors to your blog can get updates every time you post, letting them know you did so and asking them to come check out your blog!). To install this email subscription widget, do it through the Blogger gadgets section again, just like you did before, entering through "add a gadget" in your "customization" section. You may seriously want to add this gadget, as some people only come back to blogs if they get an email notice where they are notified that a blogger has updated. By the way, this service is free both to your readers and to you...

Hope this helps to get you more readers. I just wanted to help you, I wanted to "Pay It Forward," as there are so many who helped me when I started out blogging. All I ask you to do is do something small that is nice for someone else, perhaps help someone with their blogging somehow -- but don't pay ME! Let's just all pay it forward! Did you ever see the movie "Pay It Forward"? If not, watch it, it's good!

If you need any help w the above instructions you can email me. Just click on my blogger profile and you'll find my email addy on it, or find my email addy on my blog Sometimes I Think.

Oh, one more thing. In your post you stated "It seems as though my entire life has been full of lessons instead of a great adventure like most people claim."
To which I just wanted to say, "Isn't learning lessons in life THE great adventure, after all?" I love to learn. Learning is what it is all about, and I'll never get enough!

Hope I helped somehow today. God bless and good luck in your blogging...
