Climbing the Rockies

So as many of you know I have been trying to actively check things off of my "bucket list" if you will. Most of the stuff on my list has something to do with being super active and/or sports related. To be honest, I didn't think I'd ever be back in shape enough to live my dreams. Over the past month or so I can feel the fat shedding away, but more importantly I can feel muscles developing, which feels amazing! Yesterday I weighed myself and realized I have lost [not quite yet] about 20 pounds. Wow! That is an amazing feat for me.

Anyways, some friends of ours decided to do something active this weekend to get the men folk out of the house and away from the online gaming. The decision was made by us girls, rock climbing! Now, my friends that know me well are probably thinking "wow, you can't even walk without tripping, what on earth were you thinking!" Well, you would be surprised to hear that I actually did really well. My fear of heights hindered me at first. I watched the guys take turns, one climbing up the wall while the other anchored then vice versa. Then it was me and my female friend's turn. I was eager to let her attempt first. She is a lot smaller and flexible than me. I would watch her moves and see if I would able to do this. After getting halfway up the wall I look up and see her in a split across the wall clinging for dear life. A panic broke out and my heart started racing 'no way' I thought to myself 'you won't get me up there even if my life depended on it.' I brought her down, no problem, then eagerly agreed to be the anchor the rest of our trip. After being encouraged by everyone to go up and by hubby to "beat my fear" I strapped up and started climbing. I made it halfway up the wall on my first attempt before I let the height get to me and was encouraged to go up again and make it all the way to the top. I eventually did, quicker and actually enjoyed doing it. My shaking hands became more stable and by the end, I didn't want to leave. It was such a great experience. I have to recommend this to everyone to try at least once!

Happy Monday!

Good morning my fellow bloggers!! I hope you had a great weekend! Mine wasn't anything to brag about but certainly a weekend! I was busy/booked most of the weekend so I didn't quite get to open up all of the windows and clean/organize, but I got the house spotless pretty much within a few hours last night.
Anywho, I'm starting this new thing. I don't want to call it a diet, simply because diets never last. I'm looking at it as more of a mental and body cleanse. I'm basically only eating fruits and veggies & only when I am hungry. I drink large quantities of water & for the most part don't feel hungry at all hardly. SO with that being said, I'll make sure to keep you guys posted on how it goes & share my hints & tips if any of you want to try it out!

I have MUCH to blog about but not much time right now. Work is picking up which is GREAT! I've been given so much responsibility and faith by my boss that I feel fantastic!! o, and the major pay increase doesn't hurt either! (what?! I'd be lying if I didn't say it!) Anywho, the BIGGEST thing going on right now in my personal life is halloween costume shopping. I'm trying to find a balance between cute & sexy. We are going to different parties this year, some adult and some kid friendly, so I'm trying to walk that line. So far, all of the costumes I like are a little risky..but I may just go with those & wear a cape or something over it for the kid friendly one? I don't know.

Okay, off to work. But not before I leave you with a song/video, per my norm!! This one is a little freaky/freaky...but I like it. It doesn't hurt that I think she is a beautiful girl either! Not to mention that are coming here, along with MANY MANY other great artists next Friday & I will be in attendance with back stage passes. w00t! anyways, enjoy!!!

You're better off dead...

& that's just what you are to me....only certain people deserve the respect of a memory, but you, my "old friend" will not even get a spec in my memory, I'd like to save room for memories that are worth something...

that being said...it is almost quitting time. If business wouldn't have picked up so much I would be going home, but I'm setting up for a new project, yippie!! :)

I plan on having a lot of fun tonight with some friends and pretty much the rest of the weekend. It is great to have a life that I don't have to constantly lie to people all the time. This is the last blog I will acknowledge you in, simply because I see you still getting on to check my stuff, which is, to be quite honest, kinda psycho...so go back to your lies & entertain yourself..

&& without further ado...for everyone's listening pleasure, an awesome song that I cannot get out of my head...enjoy & have an awesome weekend!!! :)

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!

Despite the fact that I have been struck with the insomnia stick once again, apparently, I am in a very chipper mood this morning. Rabbit came back yesterday from a trip & we went bowling, which I haven't done in forever. I started off thinking I should let him win, not knowing how poor of a sport he would be if I won (I simply wouldn't know since he beats me at every other game or thing we do lol). I figured, why not play to my full potential, so I did, and I won both games we played. He was a very good sport, which made it better.

This weekend is drill weekend, which means I will be left to my own devise during the weekend days. I think I may venture around to certain spots and take some pictures.

Photobucket

Thinking about going back to the water gardens and wander around and take time taking photos. We will see, depending on the heat!

I'm also going to get new contacts/glasses and run other errands. But what I am most excited about....

Photobucket

RANGERS! v. the Red Sux. I really hope to see the Rangers demolish the sux, but we will have to wait & see, but I certainly am hoping for baseline seats on this one. I have many, many, many reasons to hate the sux, my number one reason being I'm a diehard Yankees fan, always & forever...

Other than that, probably poker or a party at a friend's tonight and who else knows what else.... the weekend is still young, I'll wait & see...happy friday! :)

Happy Monday!

I had the most amazing weekend with my Robert & friends. This coming week should go by quickly & the following weekend should be even better than this past one. I cannot wait. I'm finally happy now. So very, very happy.

Anyways, check out the video below. Season finale of Daisy was last night, SOOOO aggravated she didn't pick Flex.

The Weekend

This weekend was full of different adventures. Friday night Robert and I went to our friend's house to hang out, nothing too eventful. Saturday Robert suggested we go to the aquarium in Dallas. I wasn't too much for the idea since I had heard poor reviews, but he was very eager to check it out, so I went along. What should have been about a 45 minute trip took a total of two hours. The city of Arlington feels that a Saturday during peak traffic for their area is a good time to close the interstate off completely, not warning anyone at all and funnelling everyone onto the entirely too small service road. To say the least, Robert was NOT a happy camper.

We were able to find a parking spot in the extremely small parking lot (this is the "Dallas World Aquarium" and the parking lot holds all of 20 cars? This doesn't seem right. Anyways, we took our place in line and waited....and waited. I thought we were almost at the front of the line, when we rounded the corner, only to realize, the line wrapped around several times. Needless to say, about an hour after waiting (man, I am NEVER patient, it must have been Robert's lucky day) we finally made it in to the "aquarium." First of all, let me just say, that someone should probably explain to Dallas that an aquarium should probably have more than 10 smaller tanks of fish. Second, they should probably look into investigating a little thing called a "fire code" because I'm more than certain they break it on the weekends. It felt as if we were standing in line the entire time just too look at the exhibits, which consisted of birds and monkeys. I was confused at one point, did we turn the wrong way and end up at the zoo? My frustration came to a peak when standing in the middle of the bird exhibit, I felt and heard a PLOP on my back. I heard a "ewww" from the lady behind us, and I knew right away what had happened. I was gifted with a nasty present on my back from a brightly colored bird. To make matters worse, after Robert saw it instead of helping right away he let out a big "GROOOSSS!" to call more people's attention to me. I was utterly disgusted and ready to go home after that. A few people tried to comfort me by telling me it was good luck. To me, I'd rather have my typical bad luck than bird shit on my back. ugh.

Anyways, after that we headed home, showered up and went over to a friend's to watch the big UFC fight. Boy, was it amazing! I haven't been able to sit down and enjoy a UFC fight in a while. It didn't matter that the two little girls kept wanting to play with me the whole time, I was able to play with them & keep them occupied to leave the daddies alone AND watch the fight. I have to say, I was somewhat impressed with myself.

So, that aside, I enjoyed the fight greatly. Each and every single last one of the fighters I wanted to win won. I especially enjoyed watching Frank Mir get his cocky ass handed to him by Brock Lesnar. I also liked Lesnar's little speech after winning.

All in all, it was a pretty good weekend!

thinking

I'm sitting here having coffee. I can't help but notice the painting hung on the wall in front of me is slightly crooked. I so badly want to straighten it but I fear it may be frowned upon. This is obviously the most popular place in the city in the morning. There are so many people.

This weekend I have a lot on my agenda. Finish unpacking...tend to the hideous garden and make a game plan for fixing them...the container store... Maybe ikea? We will see. As of right now I do believe the lack of sleep is getting to me.
